Analysis of a William Blake Poem: ¡§The School Boy¡¨         I regard that William Blake¡¦s numbers, ¡§The School Boy¡¨, shows the joyousnesss of genius and how homophile is by nature adroit when immersed in personality, and not take from it (as is the case when the male babe is in naturalise). This passage seems the close relevant for me in the boys¡¦s connection to Nature. The boy questions how the bird can sing since it is ¡§born for joy¡¨. Thus, the boy believes that the bird is not happy in the cage entirely wish well he is not content in school. What is also measurable to pure tone is that the boy¡¦s shoulders are described as go that droop, envoking the image of a sad bird. The boy deeply identifies with the bird and also Nature.         Another example of the boy¡¦s appellative with Nature is given in the last lines of the numbers. Blake writes, ¡§How shall the pass rise in joy/ Or the summer fruits come in/ Or how shall we gather what griefs destroy/ Or bless the ruin year,/ When the blasts of winter appear¡¨ (283, 25-30).

Here, even Nature who is joyous open have griefs when Winter comes. In this poem, Blake demonstrates the school boy¡¦s identification with Nature, in that Nature gives him joy and symbolizes joy for him. Yet, Nature itself cannot always be joyous for the reason that Winter appears. Thus, this poem is more specifically about seasons and youth is like summer in that it is joyous. Yet Winter takes away joy unspoiled like school takes away from the boy¡¦s youth. To transcript this idea in Blake¡¦s words: ¡§How can a child when fears annoy/ But droop his tender wing,/ And stuff his youthful spring¡¨ (283, 18-20).
